Celebrating Bredon’s 2025 ISI Report

This January, we had the pleasure of welcoming the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) to Bredon, and we’re thrilled to share the final report. The inspection was conducted under the new framework introduced in September 2023, which moves beyond a simple one-word judgement and instead highlights the rich experiences within five key areas:

  • Leadership, management and governance
  • Quality of education, training and recreation
  • Students’ physical and mental health and emotional wellbeing
  • Students’ social and economic education and contributions to society
  • Safeguarding

A dedicated team of highly experienced inspectors – comprising current Heads, Deputy Heads, and Senior Leaders – delved deep into life at Bredon. They engaged with students and staff, observed lessons in action, reviewed our policies and documentation, and explored the excellent work our students produce every day.

We are delighted with the final report, which shines a spotlight on Bredon’s many strengths and, most importantly, the outstanding provision we make for our students. The inspectors confirmed that we fully met all the assessed standards – a testament to the dedication, passion and commitment of our entire community.

A real highlight in the report was the breadth of qualifications our students achieve, which was recognised as a ‘significant strength’ – a prestigious honour under the new inspection framework. This distinction is reserved for schools that go above and beyond in inspiring their students, making it a wonderful accolade for Bredon.

But it’s the people who truly make Bredon special. Every student, teacher, support staff member, parent and governor plays a crucial role in creating our vibrant, nurturing and dynamic school. A special mention goes to our staff whose dedication, expertise and passion are the driving force behind our students’ success.

We couldn’t be prouder of this recognition, and we invite you to read the full report below.

Here’s to another year of excellence at Bredon!

Also below is a report by CReSTeD, the Council for the Registration of Schools Teaching Dyslexic pupils. We were delighted by the report, which concluded that Bredon “is a school that does not sit on its laurels but is proactive in improving provision and standards (academic as well as personal) for all students.”

In March 2022, the ISI conducted a Regulatory Compliance Inspection. We were again very pleased to say that all standards were found to be met and we were fully compliant in all areas.

In the 2018 inspection, Bredon achieved the highest possible rating of ‘Excellent’ in all categories.
