At Bredon School, we understand that every student learns differently. Our smart teaching approach is designed to help students with dyslexia and other learning differences thrive. By using multisensory techniques and assistive technology like speech-to-text, we ensure that learning is clear and accessible. With a flexible curriculum that includes GCSEs, A-levels, and vocational qualifications, our teachers are trained to meet individual learning needs, focusing on building confidence, independence, and long-term success.

Creativity is at the heart of everything we do at Bredon. Our students engage in hands-on learning through activities like working on our farm, outdoor education, and projects that go beyond textbooks. Whether it’s forest school, archery, or cycling, we encourage new ideas and problem-solving. With a flexible, creative curriculum tailored to each student’s strengths, learning at Bredon is active, inspiring, and designed to help students excel both inside and outside the classroom.

At Bredon School, we offer three tailored Pathways to suit each student’s strengths and aspirations. The Academic Pathway builds a strong foundation in traditional subjects, the Creative Pathway nurtures imagination and innovation while the Vocational Pathway focuses on hands-on learning and career-ready skills. Each route supports success – whether in further education, apprenticeships or the world of work.

Boarding at Bredon feels like a home from home. Our supportive, family-style environment helps pupils grow in confidence and independence. With full, weekly, and flexi options, students enjoy a balanced routine, strong pastoral care, and a vibrant community where they feel safe, valued, and ready to thrive.

Bredon School is fundraising for two charities close to our hearts:

Paul`s Journey - Brain Cancer.
Paul Richards, known to most as Naughts, was a healthy, active husband, dad, business owner, and lifelong animal lover. Just four months ago, his life changed dramatically when he was diagnosed with glioblastoma, one of the most aggressive forms of brain cancer.

Paul has undergone major brain surgery and has now completed radiotherapy and chemotherapy through the NHS. The family is now exploring every credible treatment opportunity, clinical trial, and specialist option available to give Paul the best possible chance.

Breast Cancer Now - Wear it Pink
Mrs Deary, Head of Jarrett House and a member of Bredon’s Pastoral Team, Wear it Pink is a cause very close to her heart.

Mrs Deary was diagnosed nearly three years ago with Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Without the money raised for vital research, she would not be here today. It has enabled her to make precious memories with her beautiful family and share priceless time with her granddaughters.

We had a fantastic time at our first Pink Run last year, and it was incredibly humbling to see our students putting their heart and soul into the event. We raised an amazing amount, but this year we would love to smash that total and raise even more for this vital cause.

We have set up this fundraiser to support both charities, with all money raised being shared equally between them.

Any contribution from our Bredon community, no matter the amount, would be greatly appreciated and will help make a difference.

Welcoming Our New Headmaster, Mr Rory Vokes-Dudgeon

From September 2026, Bredon School is delighted to welcome Rory as our new Headmaster. Bringing significant experience across both mainstream and specialist education, he is passionate about personalised learning and creating opportunities for every young person to reach their full potential.

A Mathematics teacher by training, he has spent the majority of his career working in Special Educational Needs education. Following his PGCE at UCL Institute of Education, he began teaching at a secondary special needs school in North West London. He later joined Abingdon House School in London, completing his NPQH in 2022 before becoming Headteacher in 2023.

With particular expertise in SEND mathematics, dyscalculia and maths anxiety, he regularly contributes to teacher training, including annual lectures for the King’s College London PGCE programme.

His leadership is rooted in a child-centred approach and a strong belief in personalised learning. He is passionate about creating educational environments where young people can build confidence, overcome barriers and unlock their potential, particularly those who may not have thrived within mainstream education.

Having grown up in rural North Yorkshire and attended boarding school himself, he feels a strong connection with Bredon’s distinctive approach to education. He is particularly drawn to the school’s emphasis on academic opportunity, outdoor education, pastoral care and developing confident, well-rounded young people.

We look forward to welcoming him to the Bredon community and to the enthusiasm and expertise he will bring as we continue to support our students to thrive.
